<description>Haven&#039;t you heard about the PACT (Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking) act of 2009? It passed the House in May 2009 by a vote of 397 to 11, and is now in Senate committee.

http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/102xx/doc10218/hr1676.pdf
SUMMARY
H.R. 1676 would require individuals and businesses that make interstate sales of
cigarettes or smokeless tobacco to comply with state tax laws and register with the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATFE). The bill would authorize
the appropriation of $8.5 million annually over five fiscal years for ATFE to improve the
enforcement of laws governing the sale of tobacco. In addition, the bill would permit
ATFE to inspect the premises of anyone who distributes or sells more than 10,000
cigarettes or 500 cans or packages of smokeless tobacco in a month via telephone, the
mail, or the Internet. H.R. 1676 also would increase penalties, including criminal and
civil fines, for violations of the laws relating to taxation of cigarettes and smokeless
tobacco. Finally, the bill would prohibit the use of the United States Postal Service
(USPS) to mail certain tobacco products.

<description>BRAVO.... I agree completely! Seems to me that our right to choice has become trampled on and put aside to pacify those that stand to gain brownie points in whatever arena they preach from! I will and never have smoked a pipe or cigar in the company of those that it bothers. To me that is just being a gentleman. But to be taxed again and again not only on tobacco but now on pipes and whatever, is just taking it to the extreme. To try and force smokers to put away their passion for tobacco is akin to telling us what church to attend or what movie we must watch. As long as we smokers remain aware of others desires not to eat in a smoked filled room or stand in line at a supermarket with smoke wafting into their faces, why do we have to pay the price for enjoying a hobby or passion by being taken advantage of by those in high places that most likely need a platform to speak from!!

<description>Thanks, Russ. I&#039;ve been enjoying the Classic Burley Kake the last few months, but hadn&#039;t made the connection that you were working on something new here.

I like it for blending by the bowl... usually half Virginia, a third Burley, an aromatic on top. The creaminess and dry easy-burning have been consistent throughout the bag.

(Sometimes I&#039;ve used Kendal Cream Mixture or Stokkebye&#039;s Cube Cut in that role, but the Kake has more character. Other soft Burleys tend to dry out quickly and change character.)

Thanks for the smoke! :)

<description>Hey, Russ, I&#039;ve been smoking more of your blends than any other tobacco for years. A while back we talked about an oriental blend with NO latakia like the McClellands 2050 that I order by the pound. I&#039;m still hoping you&#039;ll come up with one. I&#039;ll buy the first pound if you or Bob will email me!</description>

		<description>Russ,

Thanks for giving us such wonderful blends !!!

I live in Dominican Republic and smoking a pipe every night in the backyard is one of the most relaxing things that can be done in this life !

I am really excited to try your new cigar blend. Here in Santo Domingo, cigars are everywhere but I`ve been waiting years to discover a true cigar blend to be enjoyed in a pipe

Best regards,
